Frankel child custody battle has important lesson

Going through a divorce brings out the worst in some people, but those instances can serve as a reminder for everyone else going through a divorce to keep things as civil as possible. In the case of Bethenny Frankel and her estranged husband, it is the child custody battle that is seemingly turning very ugly.

The couple has a 4-year-old daughter. They are fighting tooth and nail to get their own preferred child custody arrangement. The attacks are personal. She says that he has threatened to destroy her and has called her garbage. She reports him saying that they were going to go to war and that he would ruin her.

She admits that she lost her cool and called him white trash. She also accused him of caring only about money.

Frankel is also accusing him of wrecking the child's vegetarian diet by feeding her fried chicken, bacon and hot dogs. She claims that the man would force the child to prematurely say bye to her mother on Skype chats.

Because their divorce is such a public spectacle, Frankel told the justice that she didn't want to make it harder for her child than what it needed to be. She reportedly also told her estranged husband that they could be friends because she knows he is angry at the situation.

After reading about the bitter child custody battle over this little girl, readers who are going through a divorce should know that even though emotions run high during divorce and child custody proceedings, keeping a level head is vital. Things that are said about your ex in front of the children can greatly affect them.

If you are going through a divorce, it is important to learn about the possible solutions that you can seek in the case. When it comes to child custody, learning about the types of arrangements might help you to determine which is in your child's best interests.
