Less than five months after Jimbo Fisher, Florida State University’s football coach, filed for divorce from his wife Candi, a final agreement between the two was reached. The divorce was finalized last month. That’s a relatively fast resolution for a high-asset divorce, especially for a couple married as long as the Fishers — 22 years — and who are the parents of two young children. According to the divorce petition, the couple separated last May.
Reportedly, things started speeding up in the case in October after the 50-year-old coach’s legal team announced its plans to depose former University of Florida football player Taylor Jacobs. The wide receiver, who moved back to his hometown of Tallahassee after spending five years playing in the NFL, has been the subject of rumors that he had an affair with the 46-year-old wife of the coach. Ultimately, Taylor did not give a deposition in the case.
The coach, whose Seminoles recently suffered a 38-24 loss to the Houston Cougars in the Peach Bowl, earned $5 million last year. However, the terms of the financial settlement and child custody agreement are confidential. According to property records in Leon County, the coach is keeping the couple’s million-dollar home located at a local golf and country club. Mrs. Fisher is reportedly renting a home not far away.
