Flexible parenting plans often benefit the children

This summer, you can make great memories with your children as long as you are willing to plan fun activities. You don't have to spend a lot of money or go far from home. Instead, you can look at local attractions that will be fun for you and the children. Whether you have the children all summer or only for a small amount of time, it is possible to do this.

One issue that you might face is that some of the activities that you have planned might be on a specific date. If this date falls on your ex's time, you might have to work with your ex so that you can still do what you have planned. This is where a positive parenting relationship might come into the picture.

The more you and your ex are willing to work as a team, the better your children will fare. There has to be some compromise in the situation so that your children can have the things they need. It isn't possible for each parent to always get their way, but it is imperative that both follow the child custody agreement unless there is a mutual agreement.

Switching parenting time days is one instance in which you might find that working together is beneficial. Maybe you can take the children to your chosen activity, and your ex can have them on one of your nights to do something else.

It might behoove you to remember that parenting plans are meant for the good of the children. These matters aren't a time when you should try to make things more difficult for your ex because making things harder for them might make life less enjoyable for your kids.
