Florida couple celebrates divorce with selfie

For some people, going through a divorce is a nightmare. For others, going through a divorce is a positive experience that results in a celebration. Some time ago, divorce parties made the news. Now, a Florida couple has introduced us to a new phenomenon in divorces — the divorce selfie. You read that right. People are now taking pictures to celebrate the legal end to their marriage.

The Florida couple was married for three years before they decided the marriage was over. Shortly after they ended their marriage, they took a picture together that showed both of them smiling. They were happy. The caption for the photo made the announcement that the marriage was over and that the couple had a respectful, loving, and friendly split. It also said that they were smiling “not because it’s over, but because it happened.”

The need to document major milestones in life is something that is very common these days. Social media and the desire to keep others informed about life make this very easy. For some couples, posting divorce selfies might be a reminder that not all divorces have to be ugly or difficult. For some, a divorce is just a necessary step on the path toward a happier, healthier life.

Those who are going through a divorce have to ensure that they end up with a divorce settlement that puts them on stable footing after the divorce. When you know that you are getting the settlement you need, you might be able to smile just like this Florida couple did in their divorce settlement.
