Going through a public divorce isn't easy. For that reason, some people who are public figures tend to keep quiet as the divorce proceedings move forward. That is exactly what Elin Nordegren did when she and Tiger Woods were going through their high-asset divorce in the midst of a scandal. Now, she has decided to open up about some of the specifics about how she is coping with being a divorced woman.
Nordegren says that she is in a good place in her life now. She lives in Florida about 25 minutes away from Woods. She was devastated when she discovered that Woods was a serial cheater in 2009 but says that she has moved on. She went through therapy after the split and continues to see her therapist weekly in an effort to work on herself.
She and Woods have a son and daughter. She says that he is an excellent father. The see each other often since they share custody of the two children. She says their relationship is good since it is now focused on the children. Her parents were divorced, so she says that she knew that she and Woods would find the right balance to parent the children.
Nordegren recently graduated from Rollins College with top honors. She is proof positive that it is possible to move on after a divorce, even if the divorce is one that is high profile and complicated by a mass cheating scandal. This case also shows that parenting children after a complex divorce is possible when the parents are willing to put forth the effort.
